Southeast Technical College Celebrates Awards for Horticulture Educator and Consortium Director

The Southeast Tech School Board made significant strides during its meeting on September 3, 2025, with a focus on recognizing outstanding faculty achievements and discussing student success initiatives.

In a highlight of the meeting, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Fenisha Holman, acknowledged two faculty members for their exceptional contributions to career and technical education. Ben Ringling, a horticulture instructor, received the "Friend of CTO" award from the South Dakota Association for Career and Technical Education for his innovative work in horticulture education and apprenticeship programs. Dr. Sarah Vandercamp, director of the Eastern South Dakota Perkins Consortium, was honored as the "Post Secondary Professional of the Year" for her efforts in building partnerships among 35 rural schools and connecting them with industry resources.

The board also approved the minutes from the previous meeting and the agenda for the current session without opposition. Following these approvals, President Corey provided updates on student success programming, emphasizing the college's commitment to enhancing educational outcomes as the new academic year begins.
