Commander Bowling highlighted various initiatives the cadets have undertaken, including participation in the upcoming Dunny Festival and a coastal cleanup at the national park. He shared photos of past projects, such as painting guardrails and power poles, and cleaning streets in collaboration with local mayors. "We want our kids to fall in love with the island like I did," Bowling stated, underscoring the program's goal of instilling pride and responsibility in the youth.
The cadets expressed enthusiasm for their community involvement, noting that their peers are generally excited to participate in service projects. "Not only does it help the community, they can help better themselves as people," said Cadet Ensign Buniag, reflecting the positive impact these activities have on their personal growth.
The council members responded positively, appreciating the cadets' eagerness to assist in various community efforts. They encouraged ongoing collaboration, recognizing the importance of youth engagement in local initiatives. As the meeting concluded, Bowling reiterated the NJROTC's readiness to support the community, inviting mayors to reach out for assistance with future projects. The cadets' dedication to service not only benefits the community but also enriches their own lives, creating a cycle of positivity and involvement across Guam.
