The meeting also showcased the city's innovative driving school, which is fully certified by the state to train employees for commercial driver's licenses (CDLs). Since its inception, 147 individuals have obtained their CDLs, with over 100 securing employment within the solid waste department. In addition to workforce development, the council discussed the operation of four drop-off centers for household hazardous waste, which are open to residents from Tuesday to Saturday. These centers require users to present proof of residency, ensuring that services are utilized by San Antonio residents. The city also processes collected brush into mulch, which is available for free to residents and non-profit organizations, promoting sustainability and community support.

The council addressed the ongoing issue of illegal dumping, highlighting the city's proactive measures in collaboration with the Department of Human Services. The city actively monitors known dumping sites and responds to community reports, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining clean and safe neighborhoods.

Lastly, the internal services fund was discussed, which supports the maintenance of heavy equipment for various city departments. This fund ensures that essential vehicles, such as street sweepers and emergency response units, are well-maintained and operational.
