During the meeting, local resident Mr. Bodine raised critical questions about parking availability, highlighting the potential strain on street spaces once construction begins. "We're a very shortage of parking," he noted, emphasizing that construction workers would likely occupy available spots early in the morning, leaving little for customers and visitors. He urged the commission to clarify plans for parking, particularly near the railroad tracks, and to provide a timeline for project completion.

Michelle Chaffee Cavalcanti from Main Street Fort Pierce expressed optimism about the project, particularly the addition of a children's area and public restrooms, which she believes will enhance community events like Friday Fest. "This is an opportunity for Fort Pierce to take another step forward," she stated, while also acknowledging the need for ongoing discussions about funding and lighting improvements in the area.

Conversely, Gian Malachy, market manager for the Downtown Fort Pierce Farmer's Market, raised concerns about the project's conceptual design. He stressed the importance of coordinating with existing market spaces to ensure the success of local vendors. "Without smart coordination... I cannot put my support behind the current conceptual design," he warned, advocating for adequate vendor spaces to sustain the economic impact of local markets.
