Among the highlights was the announcement of the annual banquet hosted by the car tar group in Vance County, scheduled for September 25 at Miles Magnolia. The event will feature local leaders, including the emcee, who expressed enthusiasm for the gathering.

In addition to the banquet, Councilwoman Woods emphasized the importance of community engagement, encouraging attendance at the Franklin County Firemen's Association memorial service on September 11 at the Franklin County Courthouse. This service will honor those who made sacrifices for the country and is expected to last about an hour.

Councilman Stokes announced that the Lewisburg Methodist Church will restart its open table initiative on the third Wednesday of each month, inviting all community members to participate.
