Adventist Health White Memorial is making significant strides in revitalizing healthcare services in Pico Rivera and surrounding areas, as highlighted during a recent City Council meeting. Juan de la Cruz, president of the hospital's charitable foundation, presented an update on the facility's progress since its acquisition of the former Beverly Hospital two years ago.
De la Cruz emphasized the hospital's commitment to serving the community, stating, "We wanted to make sure that we contribute what we have in LA and bring it closer to Pico Rivera, Whittier, and Montebello." The hospital has undergone substantial improvements, including the expansion of outpatient services and the introduction of advanced medical technologies, such as new robotic surgery equipment.
The facility now boasts a full-service emergency room, inpatient care, and various specialized services, including cardiology and neurology. De la Cruz reassured the community that the hospital is operational, countering rumors of its closure. "We have our full service emergency room... and all ancillary supports are fully functional," he noted.
The presentation also highlighted future plans, including the recruitment of younger physicians and the development of additional outpatient services. De la Cruz mentioned a community health needs assessment that aims to address local healthcare gaps and improve access to services.
Council members expressed their gratitude for Adventist Health's investment in the community, recognizing the hospital's potential to enhance healthcare access for residents. Mayor Pro Tem acknowledged the positive changes, stating, "This is a regional benefit, not only for Montebello, but extends to Pico Rivera."
As Adventist Health White Memorial continues to expand its services and improve facilities, the community can expect a stronger healthcare presence that prioritizes patient care and accessibility. The hospital's ongoing efforts to engage with local youth through healthcare career pathways further solidify its commitment to the community's future health and well-being.
