The board unanimously agreed to appoint Kendra Alexander to the Planning Commission, recognizing her local roots and commitment to community development.

Kendra, a 23-year resident of Hoffman Estates and a graduate of Hoffman High School, expressed her enthusiasm for the role, highlighting her background in communication and sustainability. She emphasized the importance of understanding how new developments can impact the community's infrastructure and overall well-being. "Something can make or break a community if it's big enough or it can be a really huge blessing," she stated, underscoring her motivation to contribute positively to local planning efforts.

In addition to Kendra's appointment, the board also heard from another candidate interested in the Cultural Awareness Commission. This candidate, who holds a master's degree in physics from Osmania University in India, shared her desire to foster inclusivity and respect among the diverse cultures represented in Hoffman Estates. With four children currently enrolled in local schools, she is eager to engage with the community and support cultural learning initiatives.
