The Fulton City Council made significant strides in urban development during their June 24, 2025 meeting, focusing on two key resolutions aimed at enhancing local infrastructure.
First up was Resolution 3583, which authorizes the mayor to apply for a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation. This grant will fund improvements on Crestwood Drive, including new sidewalks and stormwater management. Council members expressed optimism about the project, noting its potential to connect local parks and enhance pedestrian safety. The city will need to budget a minimum match of $100,000 for the grant, which is expected to be finalized next year.
Following that, the council discussed Resolution 3584, which involves entering into an agreement with Great River Engineering for bridge construction at William Woods. The council emphasized the importance of maintaining the historic character of the area during the design process. The project is projected to take about a year for design and four months for construction, with completion anticipated by late next year.
In addition to these resolutions, the council reminded residents that City Hall and Solid Waste services will be closed on July 4 for Independence Day, encouraging attendance at the fireworks display at Veterans Park. The next council meeting is scheduled for July 8, where further discussions on city projects will continue.
