With just 94 days until the Montana Fair, preparations are ramping up to enhance community engagement and visitor experience. The Yellowstone County Commissioner meeting on May 9, 2023, highlighted exciting plans for this year’s fair, focusing on interactive displays and activities that promise to draw in crowds.
A chainsaw artist will be on-site for three days, creating stunning wood sculptures, with plans to auction one piece for charity. The local zoo will also participate, showcasing animals and offering educational talks, adding a unique touch to the fair's attractions.
In an effort to foster cultural appreciation, the MSUB All Nations Indian Club has been contacted to set up a teepee and other cultural displays along Main Street. Additionally, the Boys and Girls Club will introduce virtual reality gear, allowing kids to engage in fun, hands-on activities.
To combat the summer heat, organizers are prioritizing shade solutions. Tents will be strategically placed throughout the fairgrounds, including near the food row and the 4-H area, to encourage visitors to linger longer and enjoy the festivities.
The meeting also addressed logistical updates, including the relocation of ticket sheds and the sheep shed to improve access and flow around the pavilion. Organizers are optimistic that these enhancements will create a more enjoyable atmosphere for all attendees.
As the countdown to the fair continues, these initiatives reflect a commitment to making this year’s event memorable and engaging for the entire community.
