Rimrock Kia is gearing up for a major expansion in Billings, with plans to invest $5 million in remodeling and new construction at their dealership on King Avenue West. The business, which has been a staple in the community for over a decade, aims to enhance its automotive sales and service offerings, including parts sales.
The existing facility, valued at $4.5 million, will undergo significant upgrades, with construction expected to start this spring and wrap up later this year. This ambitious project is set to not only improve the dealership but also create 24 new full-time jobs, increasing their workforce from 36 to 60 employees within two years. Positions will span various roles, including sales associates, automotive technicians, and parts representatives.
The economic impact of this expansion is projected to be substantial. According to estimates, the addition of these jobs could generate over $4 million annually for the local economy, with $3.6 million in direct sales output and an additional $401,410 in indirect impact.
As part of the expansion process, Rimrock Kia is seeking a tax abatement from both the City of Billings Council and the Yellowstone County Commissioners. This request highlights the company's commitment to growth and its potential to significantly contribute to the region's economic landscape.
