Rio Rancho officials have released the results of the 2025 Citizen Survey, providing valuable insights into community livability and resident satisfaction with local government services. Conducted by the National Research Center and Polko, this survey has been a biannual practice since 2015, allowing the city to measure its performance against national benchmarks from over 600 communities.
During the recent governing body meeting, Ryan Chavez presented the survey findings, emphasizing its role in shaping strategic planning, budgeting, and enhancing communication with residents. The survey, which ran for six weeks starting in early May, was sent to 3,000 households, with options for participation in both English and Spanish. Despite a 2% undeliverable rate, 329 households completed the survey, yielding an 11% response rate. The results come with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of plus or minus 5.4 percentage points.
In addition to the main survey, an open participation survey was available for two weeks, garnering 296 responses. However, these results were not included in the main report due to their non-representative nature.
The findings from this survey will be instrumental in identifying areas of success and opportunities for improvement within the community, ensuring that the voices of Rio Rancho residents continue to shape local governance and initiatives. As the city moves forward, these insights will guide efforts to enhance the quality of life for all residents.
