The City of Crossville's Planning Commission has approved a new site plan for Weigel's, which will establish a second store in Cumberland County. This new location will be situated at the corner of Genesis Road and Cook Road, where the Stone House Winery currently operates. The proposed store will span 6,605 square feet and include a car wash, approximately 50 parking spaces, and gas pumps.

The approval is contingent upon obtaining necessary stormwater and Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) driveway permits. The commission discussed the potential need for new driveway permits due to the change in land use, even if existing driveways are present. This precaution ensures compliance with state regulations.

In addition to Weigel's, the commission reviewed plans for Bubba's Bodega, a convenience store that will not feature gas pumps. This project will also include two retail strip mall structures and 14 townhome units along Genesis Road. The bodega aims to serve as a corner market, providing essential goods to the community.
