Alamo Heights ISD celebrated notable achievements during its Regular School Board Meeting on September 17, 2025, highlighting the accomplishments of both the girls' golf team and drama students, as well as recognizing Cambridge Elementary for its commitment to military families.
The girls' golf team received accolades for their impressive performance at the PGA National High School Golf Invitational, where they finished second in the nation. Coach McQuiston praised the team's dedication, particularly noting sophomore Michelle Lee's outstanding individual victory, where she claimed the national championship after a thrilling playoff. In addition to the golf team, drama students from Alamo Heights High School were recognized for their participation in the National Thespian Festival in Indiana. Seniors Skyler Worth, Fallon Edwards, and Mia Joseph shared their experiences competing in various categories, with their teacher, Erica Kellogg, expressing pride in their accomplishments. This event marked a significant milestone for the students, as it was their first time competing at a national level.
Furthermore, Cambridge Elementary was honored with the Purple Star designation from the Texas Education Agency, recognizing its efforts to support military-connected students and families.
