The Rockwall Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees meeting on September 22, 2025, highlighted several significant achievements and upcoming events within the district. The meeting celebrated an impressive 89 accountability rating from the Texas Education Agency, marking a two-point increase from the previous year. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of students, teachers, staff, and community partnerships.
Both Rock High School and Rockwall Heath High School received an A rating, with Quest Academy also achieving an A rating. These accolades were attributed to the hard work of the entire school community, including feeder pattern schools that contribute to student success.
In fine arts, the Rockwall High School Choir advanced to the region round of the Texas Music Educators Association All-State auditions, with 46 students progressing. Rockwall Heath High School Choir also excelled, with a record 68 students moving to the second round of auditions scheduled for October 4. Additionally, the Heath High School Wind Ensemble and Percussion Ensemble received national recognition, being invited to perform at the 2026 Music for All National Festival in Indianapolis.
Athletic achievements were also a focal point of the meeting. The Rockwall High School boys' cross country team placed fourth at the Wiley Dustin Rodriguez Invitational, while the girls' team also performed well. Team tennis records showed Rockwall High School at 9-3 overall and 3-1 in district play, while Rockwall Heath High School stood at 6-7 overall and 2-2 in district.
In volleyball, Rockwall High School holds a record of 17-15, with a district record of 2-1, while Rockwall Heath High School is 12-9 overall and 3-0 in district play. Football teams from both high schools celebrated recent victories, with Rockwall High School defeating Crowley and Rockwall Heath High School winning against Mansfield Legacy.
The meeting also announced the upcoming Career and Technical Education (CTE) night, scheduled for October, and reminded attendees of the fall break from October 13 to 17. Overall, the meeting underscored the district's commitment to academic and extracurricular excellence, fostering a strong sense of community and achievement among students and staff.
