Furthermore, co-ed volleyball leagues have started, with youth leagues set to begin soon, marking a significant expansion of youth sports in the area.

In the realm of aquatics, the hiring of new lifeguards is underway to ensure safety at local swimming facilities, which have recently closed for the season. The committee is optimistic about the upcoming Haunting at Hillcrest event, scheduled for October 26, which aims to attract even more visitors than last year’s successful turnout of over 3,000 attendees.

The meeting also touched on the zoo's recent developments, including the introduction of new animal encounters featuring a sloth and capybaras, which are expected to enhance visitor engagement. Despite some challenges, such as staffing shortages, the zoo continues to thrive with community support and volunteer efforts.
