Norwich City Council has taken a significant step towards enhancing local infrastructure with the approval of a site plan for a new parking lot at 1 Wisconsin Avenue. During the recent Commission on the City Plan meeting, the council reviewed plans for a 29,000 square foot parking facility, which will include essential features such as earthwork, paving, landscaping, lighting, and a stormwater management system.
Tim Houle, a civil engineer from BL Companies, presented the project on behalf of the applicant, Norwich, Wisconsin LLC. He emphasized that the project aims to support operations for a new tenant moving into the existing commercial building on the site, which will be involved in beverage delivery. The proposed improvements are necessary to accommodate the tenant's operational needs.
While the project is moving forward, Houle noted that the team is currently addressing comments from the town engineer and plans to submit a comprehensive revision for further review. The council anticipates that these adjustments will be made in time for the next meeting in October, where they hope to resolve any outstanding concerns.
This development is expected to enhance site operations and improve accessibility for the new tenant, marking a positive step for local business growth in Norwich. The council's proactive approach in reviewing and approving such projects underscores its commitment to fostering a supportive environment for economic development in the community.
