The school had received the prestigious Purple Star campus designation from the Texas Education Agency, an honor awarded to schools that excel in supporting military-connected families. Blevins detailed the rigorous criteria required for this recognition, including appointing a military liaison, maintaining a dedicated webpage for resources, implementing a transition program for students, and completing additional initiatives. Lake Dallas Elementary not only met these standards but exceeded them, making it the only elementary school in Region 11 to earn this designation for the 2025-2026 school year. Blevins expressed gratitude for the staff's hard work and the opportunity to support resilient military families.

The celebration continued with a presentation from Melissa Shamp, the high school theater director, who introduced her talented students. They proudly announced that Lake Dallas High School's Thespian Troop 1-1 had achieved the Gold Honor Troop designation for the 2024-2025 school year. This recognition, awarded by the International Thespian Society, acknowledges theater troops that demonstrate excellence in their school and community. The students shared their journey, detailing the monthly assignments and community outreach efforts that contributed to their success. Achieving a score of 90 to 100 over the school year, they earned the highest honor, which will be celebrated with a banner and plaque at the upcoming troop days.
