Utilities Superintendent David Kingsbury highlighted that the previous painting required a protective curtain to manage overspray, contributing to the high costs. As technology has advanced, there is hope that newer methods may reduce future expenses. However, the immediate need for repainting is clear, as the tower is currently in need of maintenance.

The council also reviewed the overall budget for water and utility projects, which totals approximately $600,000. This funding will be drawn from the water enterprise fund, which currently holds around $3.5 million.
