Newport News City Council has taken a significant step towards revitalizing a commercial property by approving a conditional use permit for a small motor vehicle repair facility. During the meeting on September 23, 2025, the council granted the permit to Ernesto Orlando Bolanos for a 2.51-acre site located at 15412 Wark Boulevard, designated as Zone C2, General Commercial.
Chase Grog from Landtech Resources, representing the applicant, addressed the council, highlighting the importance of this project in bringing the property back to life. He noted that the site had been dormant for over two years, losing its grandfathered status, and emphasized plans to enhance the area with landscaping and reduce access points to improve safety and functionality.
The council expressed no further questions, indicating support for the initiative, which aims to boost local business and enhance the community's commercial landscape.
