After moving to D.C. to attend Gallaudet University, they took on leadership roles in organizations like the Rainbow Society and the Black Student Union, emphasizing the importance of intersectionality and representation. Their career highlights include working with the National Association of the Deaf, where they focused on equality and inclusion, and serving in the Mayor's Office of Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing, gaining firsthand experience in advancing accessibility.
Now, as the board president of the D.C. Association of the Deaf, they are dedicated to amplifying the voices of deaf youth and marginalized community members. Their advocacy is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves equal access to resources and opportunities. They envision a city where accessibility is the norm, not the exception, and are committed to educating others on how to engage with the deaf community.
