Rose said the foundation’s scholarship program continues to expand, with 28 scholarships awarded to 24 students and several new memorial and targeted scholarships started in the past year. She said the foundation removes identifying student data from scholarship reviews to minimize bias.

Board members praised the foundation and asked about plans to scale awards. Foundation leaders said they are pursuing estate gifts, larger grant opportunities and renewed community outreach and small-business partnerships to expand the fundraising base.

No board action was taken; the presentation was informational. The foundation announced two upcoming events: a Building Bridges luncheon on Dec. 11 and its annual gala May 14.
