The City Council of Mission is gearing up for the highly anticipated Fire Safety Fest, set to take place this Monday at Leo Pena Placita Park. This community event promises to be both educational and enjoyable, featuring a variety of activities aimed at promoting fire safety awareness among residents.
Fire Marshal Frank Alassos highlighted the significance of the festival, emphasizing that fire education is crucial for reducing the risk of home fires and enhancing community safety. The event will kick off with free food for the first 200 attendees, generously provided by the Valley Food Bank. In addition to the meals, attendees can look forward to a live fire demonstration, showcasing how quickly fires can ignite and the methods used to extinguish them.
The festival will also feature numerous vendors offering free giveaways and educational materials, making it a valuable opportunity for families to learn about fire safety in a fun environment. Children will have the chance to take pictures with Sparky, the fire dog, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This initiative not only aims to educate the community but also serves to lower insurance costs for homeowners by promoting safer practices. The Fire Safety Fest is a vital step towards fostering a safer Mission, and residents are encouraged to attend and participate in this important event.
