Scott Gibbard, a concerned resident, raised alarms about the drainage plan, which directs water from the fields into a retention basin before releasing it onto Mabel Avenue. He emphasized that the current design could lead to water pooling in neighborhood yards, raising fears of mosquito infestations and swampy conditions. Gibbard urged board members to reconsider the drainage strategy, particularly the method of directing water into a large underground basin filled with rocks, which he believes could overflow and exacerbate flooding issues.

Another resident, Richard Hockens, echoed these concerns, stating that the drainage plan would lead to water flooding onto his property and the nearby dog park. Hockens pointed out that the swale designed to manage the water is insufficient for the volume expected, predicting ongoing swampy conditions if the plan proceeds as is. He called for a comprehensive review of the drainage strategy to prevent adverse effects on his property and the surrounding area.

In response to these concerns, board member Mr. Marcarian acknowledged the issues raised and committed to discussing the drainage plan further with the engineering team. He also addressed a separate concern regarding exterior lighting at Mount Prospect, promising to investigate the situation and ensure proper communication with residents.
