Davis County is set to boost its tourism efforts with a significant grant approval from the Utah Office of Tourism. During the recent Regular Commission Meeting on September 30, 2025, officials approved an agreement for a $182,250 grant aimed at funding the "Discover Davis 2026" marketing campaign. This grant, which runs from August 29, 2025, to April 1, 2027, requires a one-to-one match, showcasing the county's commitment to enhancing its tourism appeal.
Jessica Merrill, a key player in securing this funding, was praised for her efforts in obtaining one of the highest awarded amounts in this funding round. Her work is expected to significantly elevate the visibility of Davis County as a tourist destination.
In addition to the grant approval, the commission also discussed a strategic partnership with Rudliff Solutions to develop an organizational strategic plan for the tourism division. This agreement, valued at $20,500, will be executed over two years, with payments split between 2025 and 2026.
These initiatives reflect Davis County's proactive approach to tourism development, aiming to attract more visitors and stimulate local economic growth. The commission's decisions signal a strong commitment to enhancing the county's tourism infrastructure and marketing strategies.
