The North Kingstown School Committee meeting on September 30, 2025, celebrated outstanding contributions from educators and staff, highlighting the district's commitment to excellence in education.

Alicia Skaggs, an art teacher at Whitford Middle School, was honored as the Teacher of the Year. Her passion and dedication have made a significant impact on her students and the broader community. "Every project reflects her deep belief that every student has a voice worth hearing," said Dr. Dubuff, who presented the award. Skaggs is recognized not only for her artistic skills but also for her ability to inspire self-expression and collaboration among her students.

Eileen McGivney, a control clerk in the business department, was named Educational Support Professional of the Year. Her professionalism and willingness to assist colleagues have made her an invaluable asset to the district. "Her follow-through, dedication, and genuine care for her colleagues have made an enormous difference," noted Dr. Dubuff during the recognition.

The meeting also acknowledged the exemplary actions of the transportation team following a bus incident on September 12. Bus driver Diana Preble, along with her colleagues Lori Howard and Kelly Ellis, demonstrated remarkable professionalism and care, ensuring the safety of students during a potentially frightening situation. Their quick response and teamwork were commended, reinforcing the district's commitment to student safety.
