Glynn County officials have taken significant steps to enhance the local dining scene by approving two new alcoholic beverage licenses during the County Commission meeting on October 2, 2025. The licenses, granted to Rippers and Zuzu's Bistro, will allow these establishments to serve malt beverages and wine for on-premises consumption, with Sunday sales permitted.

The commission first addressed the application for Rippers, located at 203 Edwards Plaza on Saint Simons Island. Following a thorough background investigation, no issues were found that would prevent the approval. After a brief public hearing, where no opposition was voiced, the commissioners unanimously voted in favor of the license.

Similarly, Zuzu's Bistro, situated at 119 Mallory Street, also received approval after a similar process. Again, the background check revealed no concerns, and the absence of public opposition led to a swift approval by the commission.
