The council identified three high-priority items for immediate attention. The top priority is to explore the expansion of smart transportation services to San Jose International Airport, which received 39 points. Following this, the installation of AI cameras in police patrol cars to enhance issue detection was ranked second with 31 points. The third priority involves a storefront and crime prevention business initiative, also scoring 31 points.

In addition to the high-priority items, the council discussed three important initiatives. These include adding a function to the online police report system that allows citizens to upload photos or videos, creating a status update feature for tracking submitted police reports, and establishing a temporary police office on Main Street.

The meeting also touched on four "nice to have" items, which include the creation of a council community fund, the development of a fentanyl policy, planning a small business open house, and revising the animal cruelty ordinance.

City officials emphasized the need for a supermajority vote for any changes to the prioritization of these items. The police chief noted concerns about the department's capacity to handle the proposed initiatives, particularly regarding the online report tracking system and the upload function.

The council plans to revisit these discussions in future meetings to finalize the implementation of the prioritized items, ensuring that public safety and community engagement remain at the forefront of their agenda.
