Jackson Public Schools is set to enhance its educational offerings with the approval of a new partnership with Imagine Learning, previously known as Edgenuity. The board meeting on October 3, 2025, highlighted the administration's recommendation to approve a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that will provide online and blended learning courses aimed at credit recovery, first-time coursework, professional development, and on-demand tutoring.
Imagine Learning will deliver a diverse range of courses, including English Language Arts, math, science, social studies, world languages, advanced placement, and career and technical education, all of which are approved by the Mississippi Department of Education and align with state standards. Last year, the program served 1,820 students who completed coursework out of a total enrollment of 3,801, demonstrating significant engagement with blended learning formats.
In addition to the Imagine Learning initiative, the board also discussed a new agreement with ACT Education Corporation. This partnership will allow Jackson Public Schools to administer the ACT district test during regular school hours, providing students with easier access to this important assessment without the need for weekend transportation. This move aims to better support students in evaluating their academic skills and preparing for future opportunities.
The board's discussions reflect a commitment to expanding educational resources and improving student access to essential learning tools. With these initiatives, Jackson Public Schools is poised to enhance its academic offerings and support student success in the coming years.
