During the meeting held on October 6, 2025, officials discussed the necessity of these changes, especially in light of ongoing developments in the vicinity. The area currently serves as a parking lot with limited exit points, leading to confusion and potential hazards for drivers. The recommendation includes implementing signage to guide drivers and prevent wrong-way entries, along with a robust outreach and education campaign to inform the community about the upcoming changes.

The commission also addressed safety concerns at intersections, particularly near a preschool where traffic congestion during drop-off and pick-up times has been problematic. The proposed modifications aim to reduce near misses and improve overall safety for pedestrians and drivers alike.

In addition to the one-way traffic proposal, the commission is focusing on enhancing pedestrian infrastructure along Royal Street. Plans include improving drainage and installing sidewalks, which are currently substandard in some areas.
