Troy City Council adopted Resolution R50-2025 authorizing the director of public service and safety to advertise for bids and enter into a contract for sandblasting and painting of the four final clarifier tanks at the wastewater treatment plant at a cost not to exceed $370,800.

The Building & Utilities committee reported the tanks are at the end of their estimated life expectancy and that the project was included in the 2025 budget. The committee recommended preparing legislation to proceed with bidding and contracting so the work can be completed.

Council voted to adopt the resolution after suspending the rules. The motion to adopt was made by Mr. Sievert and seconded by Ms. Snead; a roll call produced affirmative votes from the council members present and the resolution was adopted.

The action authorizes staff to solicit bids and enter a contract up to the stated cap; the resolution was presented as the first reading and adopted under emergency suspension, allowing contracting activity to proceed in line with the city's purchasing and contracting rules.
