The board said if the building department finds no appropriate permit, staff should initiate enforcement steps, which may include a warning or a stop‑work/order and follow-up with legal staff. The trustees did not vote on any enforcement action at the meeting.
Trustees also discussed the broader pattern of pharmacies opening in nearby commercial corridors and urged staff to clarify how the village tracks mercantile permits so future openings are reviewed before businesses operate.
The board asked staff to provide the requested report before the next open meeting and to notify the board if immediate enforcement action is warranted.
