The Board adopted a subdistrict map change for case LDC D‑2025‑5 to change approximately 1.02 acres on the west side of U.S. Highway 17 in Bowling Green from Rural Cluster Center — Residential to Rural Cluster Center — Commercial.
Staff said the parcel’s frontage on Highway 17 and its small size made residential development infeasible, prompting the applicant’s request for a commercial subdistrict. The item previously received unanimous support from the planning commission, and no members of the public signed up to speak during the expedited public hearing. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved adoption by voice vote.
No specific commercial use or site plan was approved at the meeting; the action changes the subdistrict designation to permit commercial‑zoned uses subject to applicable permitting and site review.
