Supervisor comments and testimony: Supervisor(s) read the proclamation and cited state statistics that one in four adults aged 65 and older fall each year, and that falls are a leading cause of injury‑related deaths in that group. Carol Brown, representing the area agency on aging, spoke about resources available to older adults and caregivers, including screenings, balance and mobility programs, and community events. She urged older residents to report falls and seek help without fear of prematurely losing independence.
