Health department moves from PolicyTech to Smartsheet; commission gives go-ahead

The health department representative told the commission that PolicyTech costs about $2,200 per year and Smartsheet about $1,900 per year, and that Smartsheet offers features the department needs for accreditation tracking, forms, calendars and simple data visualizations. "We can also put data in there and create infographics, calendars, also reminders," the health department representative said. She added that other local public health agencies have created templates they are willing to share.
Staff said the health department will use money from the department's public health infrastructure grant to cover Smartsheet through 2027; thereafter the subscription would move to the county IT budget.
Commissioners indicated they had no objection and granted permission to make the change. No formal contract signature was required at the meeting; staff said a county official (Sam) will sign the digital paperwork.
The commission did not discuss any procurement contract beyond the subscription quote or ask for a detailed cost-benefit analysis at this meeting.
