Several members asked staff to provide the number of employees who currently use the incentive, how many use the on-site gym and whether equipment donations or repurposed equipment from other departments could reduce costs.
Councilman Beltran moved to table the purchase and requested finance and human resources provide data on participation in the incentive program and current on-site usage rates; Councilmember Green seconded. The motion to table passed 4-1. Council asked staff to return with usage metrics and options for staged procurement or alternative cost models.
