Bullhead City officials reported a successful summer at Rotary Park, with significant revenue generated from parking fees and park rentals. During a recent city council meeting, it was revealed that the July 4 and Labor Day weekends brought in approximately $17,000 from parking fees alone, a decision made in response to community requests for better management of park access. This revenue is earmarked for park maintenance and improvements, including new amenities like an ADA ramp and splash pad.
In addition to parking fees, park rentals generated over $75,000, while sales from the river shop contributed around $70,000. City officials emphasized that these funds are reinvested into the community, enhancing local parks and facilities.
Looking ahead, the council highlighted upcoming events, including the Veterans Day parade on November 11 and the Boom Box parade on December 5, both aimed at fostering community engagement. The new city website, launched on September 29, was also introduced, providing residents with easier access to city services and information.
In a bid to support the new animal shelter, the city has initiated a "Pavers for Pets" program, allowing residents to purchase commemorative bricks. This initiative aims to raise funds for the shelter, which has already received significant donations.
Overall, the meeting underscored the city’s commitment to community development and engagement, with plans for continued improvements and events that bring residents together.
