Iredell County amended and restated its opioid settlement spending resolution after the state review determined a proposed addiction-awareness training hosted by county health department staff did not meet Exhibit A eligibility under the county's MOU with the State of North Carolina.

Caroline Taylor of Finance said the county had an earlier resolution effective July 1 that included the training; CoreNC (state reviewer) questioned eligibility and the county agreed to remove that training from the current year's spending resolution. "We are requesting to amend and restate our resolution just pulling out that addiction awareness training," Taylor said.

The amendment also authorized the state reviewer to strike that language from prior-year resolutions where applicable. The board approved the amended resolution on consent.

Finance staff described the change as required by state oversight and said other approved opioid settlement expenditures in the resolution remain unchanged.
