Crowley FFA students will soon represent their chapter at the National FFA Convention after being recognized as a three-star chapter, the highest honor in Louisiana. During the Acadia Parish Board Meeting on October 7, 2025, chapter vice president Kennedy Smith and secretary Madison Benoit shared their excitement about receiving this prestigious award, highlighting the opportunity to connect with FFA members from across the country.
The board unanimously approved the students' travel request to attend the convention, emphasizing community support for youth development programs. The Crowley FFA chapter also celebrated their recent achievements, including a fourth-place finish in a state competition and a first-place award in the "Growing Leaders" division, showcasing their commitment to fostering leadership skills among young members.
In addition to the FFA discussions, the board approved several other key items. Rain High School received approval for an out-of-state trip to the Houston Health Museum, aimed at enhancing students' educational experiences in emergency medical and biology fields. The board also declared a 2018 Bluebird bus as surplus property, allowing for its disposal through legal means.
Further, the board extended a joint lease agreement for property in the Doosan area, which generates approximately $12,000 annually for Acadia Parish. The meeting concluded with the approval of a proclamation declaring October as Attendance Awareness Month, reinforcing the district's commitment to student engagement and attendance.
These decisions reflect the board's ongoing efforts to support educational initiatives and community involvement, setting a positive tone for the upcoming school year.
