The City of Quincy Board of License Commissioners on Oct. 7 approved a common victualler license for a convenience store at 618–620 Hancock Street to expand its existing offerings to include small reheating appliances and a coffee machine.
A representative identified as Sofia said the store (owner: Ting Hua) currently sells prepackaged foods, milk and frozen packaged items and operates seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The applicant described two small electrically powered machines to be placed inside the store to reheat items such as popcorn and hot dogs and a small coffee machine similar to those used at other convenience stores. The representative said the machines are small, electric, and intended only for reheating ready-to-eat items.
Board members did not raise objections; a motion to approve the common victualler license expansion passed by voice vote. The applicant confirmed the store’s operating hours to the board and emphasized compliance with health and safety rules.
The approval allows the store to add the described food-preparation equipment; no fee amounts or specific health-department approvals were recorded on the transcript during the hearing.
