Plain City councilors approved a resolution authorizing the village administrator to enter a purchase agreement for a 0.99-acre parcel at 142 Church Street in Uptown Plain City.
At second reading Council adopted Resolution 44-2025 by recorded vote 5–0. Staff described the parcel as adjacent to the depot project and said acquiring the property would allow for additional parking and support future economic development. Staff estimated the unimproved gravel lot could provide about 45 parking spaces in the near term and that the site could be developed later to generate additional economic activity uptown.
Council thanked staff for pursuing the acquisition and noted the parcel’s strategic value for extending the depot project’s impact. The resolution authorizes entering the purchase agreement with TP Holdings LLC for the property; council approved the measure during the meeting by a unanimous recorded vote.
The acquisition was presented as a second-reading item and recorded as passed. Implementation steps — including parking layout, interim use as gravel parking, and long-term development planning — were described as forthcoming items for planning and zoning review and future council consideration.
