Resident urges city help to educate disabled tenants about HUD inspection rules

MJ said her unit was tidy and she has photos showing that, but that she did not know the specific expectations used in inspections and feared losing shelter at age 50. "Can we please set something up so that people who are given the opportunity to be housed aren't thrown back out in the street?" she asked the council.
The comment was submitted as a public request; no city action was taken during the meeting. The speaker asked staff or the council to identify where residents with disabilities can get clear, accessible guidance on HUD housing inspection requirements and what supports are available to help tenants meet standards.
