Parents told the board they want a qualified head baseball coach in place before winter training begins. In response, Acting Superintendent Winnie Kivett and the board said the head coach posting will go live the next morning and outlined the district’s selection process.

“That job will be posted tomorrow morning, and the head coach position will be posted for a minimum of two weeks,” Kivett said. She added that Athletic Director Rob Hill will solicit stakeholder feedback via a parent and student‑athlete questionnaire to identify priorities and qualities sought in the next coach.

Kivett described subsequent steps: candidate outreach (including club organizations if applicant numbers are low), one or two interview rounds, practical coaching tasks and a student‑athlete panel as part of the final interview components. She said Rob Hill and John Lawler will be involved in the process and that students and parents will provide input through surveys and the student‑athlete panel.

Parents who addressed the board said they wanted a coach with demonstrated experience rather than a temporary “placeholder.” Kivett said the district will seek qualified applicants and perform outreach if initial responses are limited. The board did not take a formal vote on the hiring; it described the operational timeline and next steps for the athletic department to run the search and interview process.
