Volleyball tournament, banquets and college practices scheduled; floor refinish will pause use for over a week

Director Dave said the DOC (described in the meeting as the "Dakota Uyatahay Challenge Volleyball Tournament") will bring about 15 teams and use both the gym and armory in a double-elimination format, starting at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. He also described the National Kids Pedal Pull and noted roughly 4,000 attendees for that day.
The Pheasants Forever Banquet is scheduled with setup the Thursday before the event; Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) will be practicing at the venue through Wednesday and will return after the refinish. Staff said they will begin floor refinishing after the banquet; the final top coat will require eight to nine days to cure. The director said Dakota Wesleyan is expected to practice on the 27th and play its first men's game on the 28th after the new finish is complete.
Staff asked for volunteers to help with ticketing for the volleyball tournament and said event organizers will provide line judges, score tables and other personnel. No additional operational or policy actions were taken during the report.
