The Entertainment Commission unanimously approved a limited live‑performance permit for Piglet and Co, a restaurant-bar at 2170 Mission St., that allows outdoor prerecorded music from up to two fixed speakers and indoor entertainment while windows are open provided the activities do not occur at the same time.
Staff said inspectors already set two sound limits — one for the windows-open configuration and another for windows‑closed — and that outreach to commercial and residential neighbors within 150 feet yielded no opposition; the staff file includes two letters of support received the day of the hearing, one from the landlord and a former tenant.
Owner Marcel described modest monthly industry nights and occasional late-night programming, stressing the restaurant-first intent and small‑scale entertainment. “We are an Asian comfort food restaurant. Primarily, I am applying and looking for a permit so that we can have…once-a-month Monday night industry snack night,” Marcel said.
Commissioners approved staff recommendations and directed the owner to follow the inspector-set sound limits and coordinate with neighbors and staff. The permit allows outdoor prerecorded music daily between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m., not to exceed six total amplified hours per day, per the staff recommendation and inspector settings.
