The Town Council voted to grant the liquor-license renewal paperwork for Dana's Sports Lounge and waived the renewal fee as the business completes repairs following a flood.

John Meehanie, an attorney representing the license holder, said his client has complied with paperwork and clearances from the Division of Taxation but remains closed while finishing work on the premises; he told the council the business expects to reopen in November or December. Meehanie asked that the renewal fee be waived because the owner had no income during the closure.

Councilman Pollock moved to approve the pending renewal and waive the renewal fee for this year; the motion was seconded by Councilman LaPorteo and passed on voice vote. Meehanie said he intended to finalize any remaining work by mid-November or December and preferred consolidating upcoming renewal matters to avoid repeated appearances.

The council recorded the action as an approval of the renewal paperwork with a fee waiver; the licensee will return to active operation once building repairs are complete and municipal inspections are satisfied.
