Kootenai County commissioners on Oct. 7 approved a series of semiannual HVAC preventative‑maintenance agreements covering the county’s 911 server rooms and tower sites.
Lieutenant Jeff Howard explained the maintenance contracts cover HVAC systems at the 911 server locations and towers (Canfield Mountain, KCSO South, Killarney Tower and Mason Butte Tower). He told the board that keeping server rooms cool is essential because servers will overheat and fail relatively quickly without proper climate control.
A single motion covered items 22 through 26; the board approved the maintenance contracts by unanimous vote with aye votes recorded from Commissioner Aberline, Commissioner Duncan and Chair Vasari.
