Bill 90, which would amend Article 13, Section 13‑8 of the County Charter to repeal the requirement that the mayor appoint department heads within 30 days of taking office and within 60 days of any vacancy, was postponed by the committee Oct. 7 to the Oct. 21 hearing at the maker’s request.
Councilmember Onishi moved for postponement and asked for support; the motion carried 8‑0 (one absent). No substantive questions or administrative presentations were made at the Oct. 7 hearing; the postponement was procedural to allow further review.
What’s next: Bill 90 will return to the committee on Oct. 21 for further consideration.
