The Cullman City Council voted Sept. 29 to award the construction contract for a lazy river at Wild Waterpark to Aqua Design System, the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $5,751,907.

Council members described the project as long‑planned and part of the park’s phased improvements. “It’s been a long time in the planning stages,” a council member said during the resolution discussion before the vote. The council adopted the resolution to award the bid without recorded amendments.

The resolution directs the city to proceed with the contract award and to incorporate the project into park capital planning. Council did not add conditions to the award in the public discussion recorded at the meeting; staff will manage construction administration and coordination with the park’s operating plans.
