The chair proposed that each advisory board provide a short update at the first board meeting of each month so the board would learn of issues sooner; the board agreed to begin those updates on Nov. 1.
The chair announced the town had received a resignation on the ZBA and said the board will advertise the vacancy. "We're accepting a resignation sign on the ZBA," the chair said. Board members discussed encouraging strong candidates from other advisory boards or from the open applicant pool; alternates and the number of alternates on the ZBA were discussed but no formal appointment was recorded at the workshop.
Separately, the chair asked staff member Peter to circulate a town naming policy that had been approved at a 2023 workshop but never formally adopted. Peter said he would send the proposed policy and the chair said he would place it on the next upstairs agenda for formal consideration.
The board voted to recess for a Rotary Club obligation later in the meeting; otherwise no formal appointments or adoptions were recorded during the workshop.
