"State Parks has approved our plan. It has gone out. It's on the market. We're getting back some preliminary stuff from people, and we're getting some bidders," the chair said. The chair told the board the town has a $500,000 grant but that early indications of contractor pricing make it look like total costs "seems to start looking like it's gonna be 1.5 to 2 2.2, 2.3."
Board members cautioned that, if bids come in at those levels, the town will have to identify additional funding from other sources or pursue further grants. The chair said the town will let the bid process run and reassess when proposals arrive. No formal additional appropriation or grant application was recorded at the workshop.
Staff will return to the board with bid results and options for bridging any shortfall, which could include applying for additional grants or reallocating local funds.
